§ 78 and 79. Mr. Hardy
asked the Minister of Health (1) in view of the inability of the Whitley Council to make any progress in setting up Whitley machinery to deal with disciplinary cases, what steps he is prepared to take to bring about an agreement and thereby give justice to the employees within the National Health Service;
(2) whether he is aware that dissatisfaction prevails amongst employees in the National Health Service that more than five years after the inception of the service, there is no satisfactory machinery to deal with disciplinary cases within the service; and what action he proposes to take to deal with this matter.
§ Mr. Iain Macleod
While it is true that there is as yet no Whitley agreement on this matter, full guidance was issued to employing authorities over two years ago. I am sending the hon. Member a copy.
