HC Deb 21 February 1952 vol 496 cc58-9W
108. Mr. Sparks

asked the Minister of Education why the Hornsey Grammar School, Middlesex, has been closed and re-opened as a modern secondary school.

Miss Horsbrugh

Because there were more Grammar school places in this part of the county than could be filled by pupils capable of benefiting from this type of education, while there was an acute shortage of accommodation for other types of school.
