§ 102. Sir T. Mooreasked the Minister of Food if he will explain the reasons which guided him in selling the apples recently sent as a gift by the people of Canada to the people of Britain and retaining the proceeds.
§ Mr. F. WilleyThere has been no recent gift of this kind. I think the hon. Member is referring to the generous gift of more than a million boxes of apples made by British Columbian growers nearly a year ago. If so, I would refer him to the reply my right hon. Friend gave to the hon. Members for Renfrew, East (Major Lloyd) and Newbury (Mr. Hurd) on 28th June last year.
