HC Deb 04 December 1951 vol 494 cc205-6W
10. Sir J. Mellor

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland whether he has decided to exercise his power under subsection (7) of Section 35 of the Agriculture (Scotland) Act, 1948, to extend the period for which the powers conferred on him by subsection (2) of the said Section are exercisable and, if so, when the necessary Statutory Instrument will be made.

Mr. J. Stuart

The only power under subsection 2 at present exercisable is that provided by paragraph (d). I intend to make an Order for the extension to 31st December, 1952, of the period for which this power may be exercised. The Order will be laid as soon as possible having regard to the statutory requirements to be observed.
