HC Deb 02 August 1951 vol 491 c281W
Mr. Bossom

asked the Minister of Food if he is aware that the Irish are buying currants and sultanas, adding 30 per cent. of sugar to them, and then reselling them to Great Britain at 2s. a pound, whereas these could be obtained direct without paying this high charge; and why he has not done this.

Mr. Webb

I would refer the hon. Member to the reply given to the hon. Member for Cardiff, North (Mr. Llewellyn), on Thursday, 22nd March.
