61. Mr. Bartlett

asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Admiralty whether he will invite French officials and the President of Le Comité des Amis dc l'Implacable to be present when the "Implacable" is sunk; and what commemorative relic he proposes to present to the French authorities.

Mr. Dugdale:

An invitation has already been sent to the French Government to be represented at the sinking of the "Implacable." They have nominated the French Naval Attache in London. Rear Admiral M. J. Adam, C.B.E., and the French Consular Agent at Portsmouth, M. de Curzon. Commemorative relics of the ship in the form of caskets carved out of her original timbers are to be presented to the French Ministry of Marine and to the Museum at Roche-fort.
