§ Mr. Sharpasked the Parliamentary Secretary of the Admiralty how many staff suggestions for the elimination of under-employment and reduction of staff have been made under A.F.O. 3802/48 to the latest date for which he has this information; how many of these have been adopted; and what recognition, financial or otherwise, has been given to those whose suggestions have been adopted.
§ Mr. W. Edwards:Twenty-three suggestions have been received; eight of these have been adopted and three are still being examined. Recognition has taken the form of appropriate departmental or headquarters commendation of which authorities will be aware when the individual concerned is considered for subsequent appointments. The Admiralty, however, is considering again whether other methods of recognition should be adopted for suggestions of sufficient value.
