§ 22. Major Bruceasked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether the claim for compensation he submitted to the Dutch Government on 28th August, 1947, in respect of the loss of British lives in a shooting down incident which occurred on 29th July, 1947, has yet been satisfied; and what steps he proposes to take to ensure that adequate compensation is paid forthwith to the relatives of those British citizens who lost their lives in this attack by Dutch aircraft on a civilian plane.
§ Mr. BevinThe claim to which my hon. and gallant Friend refers is still under negotiation between His Majesty's Government and the Netherlands Government. I have every hope that a satisfactory settlement will be reached in the near future.
