HC Deb 04 November 1948 vol 457 cc131-2W
Commander Noble

asked the Minister of Food whether he is satisfied that no hindrances by existing traders or equipment manufacturers are being put in the way of new entrants into the fish frying business.

Mr. Strachey

Further inquiries are being made to see whether there is improper restriction on the sale of this equipment; if as a result of these inquiries it appears necessary, I will consult my right hon. Friend the President of the Board of Trade on the possibility of action being taken under the Monopolies and Restrictive Practices (Enquiry and Control) Act, 1948.
