HC Deb 28 October 1947 vol 443 c63W
121. Mr. Emrys Hughes

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he is aware that grave anxiety prevails among Scottish local authorities about the possibihty of cuts in housing and the possibility of the slowing down of the housing programme; and whether he is in a position to make any statement likely to allay this anxiety.

Mr. Woodburn

I would refer the hon. Member to the statement on the capital investment programme made by my right hon. Friend the Minister for Economic Affairs on 23rd October. I hope to issue a circular to local authorities within the next few days outlining the effect of the new proposals on the housing programme.
