§ Mr. BevanThe compensation paid to owners of requisitioned houses is determined under Section 2 of the Compensation (Defence) Act, 1939, as amended by 105W Section 45 of the Requisitioned Land and War Works Act, 1945, and is assessed broadly on the basis of the rent which a tenant could reasonably be expected to pay during the period of requisition under a lease granted immediately before the requisitioning.
