HC Deb 13 November 1947 vol 444 cc103-4W
97. Mr. D. J. Williams

asked the Minister of Health how many aluminium bungalows for miners have been made available for the mining areas; how many are to be erected in South Wales; and what factors govern their allocation to the various local authorities.

Mr. Bevan

6,779 permanent aluminium bungalows have been allocated to mining areas, and of these 1,115 will be erected in South Wales. These bungalows are allocated to local authorities where there is urgent need for houses for special classes of workers.
