HC Deb 11 February 1947 vol 433 c51W
Mr. Burden

asked the Minister of Labour whether the normal weekly hours of a civil servant, which are 42 in London and 44 in the provinces, include the luncheon period; and what are the normal hours of duty agreed upon by the National Joint Council for local authorities administrative, professional, technical and clerical services.

Mr. Isaacs

The normal weekly hours of civil servants include a luncheon interval. The normal hours agreed upon by the National Joint Council for Local Authorities' Administrative, Professional, Technical and Clerical Services are 38 per week excluding meals.
