HC Deb 04 June 1946 vol 423 c309W
Sir J. Lucas

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he will give the conditions necessary for Polish ex-Servicemen, demobilised in this country, to become British citizens subject to reasonable safeguards against persons with police records.

Mr. Ede

As indicated by my right hon. Friend the Foreign Secretary in reply to a supplementary question on 22nd May, special consideration will have to be given to the question of what arrangements shall be made for the naturalisation of those Poles who after demobilisation settle in this country, and it would be premature to formulate plans at this stage.
