HC Deb 02 April 1946 vol 421 c142W
10. Sir P. Macdonald

asked the Secretary of State for War whether he is aware of the damage that was done to certain property on Shanklin Esplanade, Isle of Wight, as a result of Pluto operations; and when arrangements will be made to pay the compensation due and to sponsor priority for licences to carry out the necessary repairs.

Mr. Lawson:

Yes, Sir. Arrangements have already been made in agreement with the Esplanade Association, for submission of claims which will cover both war damage and dilapidations for which the War Office is responsible. Some claims have been received and are in course of settlement. The question of licences for repairs is a matter for my right hon. Friend the Minister of Works.
