§ Mr. BevinThe hon. Member is probably referring to reports relating to a dispute regarding the French schools in Syria. The Syrian authorities require an application from the schools for permission to open, whereas the French authorities maintain that it is not incumbent on them to make such an application. His Majesty's Government have received no information that Christions are being persecuted in Syria.
