HC Deb 21 December 1944 vol 406 c1991W
Mr. De Chair

asked the Secretary of State for War, in view of the fact that British officer prisoners of war in Germany have frequently been made to travel under conditions of extreme hardship in cattle trucks, he will make certain that German officer prisoners of war when travelling in this country are not given facilities which deprive ordinary travellers of the limited first-class accommodation available.

Sir J. Grigg

Officer prisoners of war normally travel third class. Only if this would involve their travelling with other ranks do they travel first class.
