§ Sir R. Gowerasked the Secretary of State for War whether he can give full particulars of the arrangements of the Civil Affairs Division of S.H.A.E.F. for operating the Aix-la-Chapelle collieries; and to what extent British coalmining experts will be called upon to give assistance in supervision.
§ Sir J. GriggS.H.A.E.F. is responsible for the operation of these collieries but not the Civil Affairs Division of that headquarters. I am not aware of the details of the arrangements made, but I understand that sufficient technical assistance is provided by the experts at present serving with S.H.A.E.F.
