§ Mr. Stephenasked the Minister of Supply what percentage of Government heavy clothing contracts were placed in England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland, respectively, for 1943 to the nearest available date; and whether he will consider increasing the number of such contracts in Scotland in the near future?
§ Mr. PeatWith regard to contracts placed so far this year by the Ministry of Supply, the percentages are—England, 84; Scotland, 8; Northern Ireland, 7 ½; Wales, ½. Owing to the decrease in Service clothing requirements, it is unlikely that the number of contracts placed in Scotland by the Ministry of Supply can be increased, but I will look further into 1095W the matter and communicate with the hon. Member.
