HC Deb 08 September 1942 vol 383 cc43-4W
Sir I. Albery

asked the Minister of Supply whether he is satisfied that adequate steps are being taken to reclaim for further use the material from used oil saturated cotton waste, rags and wipers?

Mr. Peat

Adequate arrangements are in operation for recovering and treating oily rags, cotton waste and wipers from Government factories, the Services, and the railway companies. A considerable number of processing firms throughout the country treat such material arising from commercial sources; but further measures may be necessary and I am investigating the matter.
