asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Works and Planning when it is expected to instal machinery at the slag cement factory in South Wales; whether it is his intention to have the operators of the plant produce immediately slag cement and in what quantities; and what is to be the selling price?

Mr. Hicks

The machinery for the purpose of enabling blast furnace slag cement to be made in Wales is being installed partly in a selected steel works and partly in a cement works. The plant, it is anticipated, should be able to go into operation by next February, The question of price has not yet been considered.
