HC Deb 18 November 1942 vol 385 c375W
Mr. W. Brown

asked the Minister of Supply in what circumstances the supplies of paper have been withdrawn from the publication "Free Austria," the only journal published in English for Austrians in Britain; and whether he will see to it that supplies are made available for this paper?

Sir A. Duncan

The publication of periodicals which were not in existence before August, 1940, is prohibited. Exceptions have been made in the case of a limited number of periodicals, and these included for a time a publication with the title cited. In granting licences for the supply of paper for publications I rely on the advice of the Department concerned, which in this case is the Ministry of Information.
