§ Mr. Perkinsasked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Food whether a smallholder or cottage gardener who has less than 25 hens can grow potatoes and other crops suitable for human consumption for the sole purpose of feeding his chickens?
§ Mr. MabaneThe use of certain crops, including wheat and potatoes, for feeding to livestock is subject to restrictions particulars of which I will give to my hon. Friend. Other crops, however, are not subject to these restrictions and there is nothing in any Orders of my Department to prevent a poultry keeper, if he has facilities, from growing such crops for feeding to his poultry.
