HC Deb 14 December 1939 vol 355 cc1299-300W
Mr. Pethick-Lawrence

asked the Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster how he proposes to deal with the complaints that the price at which a 280 pounds sack of flour is sold in Glasgow for Christmas sale is above the ordered price?

Mr. W. S. Morrison

I have not received complaints that flour is generally being sold in Glasgow at more than the price specified by the Flour (Prices) Order. My attention has, however, been called to instances where some small quantities of imported flour which it has been difficult to classify under the Order have been sold at more than the permissible price. Steps are now being taken to regularise the matter by means of refunds.
