HC Deb 25 March 1937 vol 321 c3093W
Mr. Garro Jones

asked the Prime Minister whether any rules exist for the guidance of Ministers on the question of whether they should disclose to Members, upon inquiry, what prices have been paid by Government Departments for various types of armaments, raw materials, and other Government purchases; and, if so, whether he will define such rules?

Mr. R. MacDonald

It is the general practice to regard contract prices as confidential, and my right hon. Friend is satisfied that the continuance of this longstanding practice is in the public interest.
