HC Deb 25 March 1937 vol 321 cc3093-4W
Captain Plugge

asked the Secretary of State for War, whether in view of the official announcements on Christmas Day last that all the men of the Royal Army Service Corps who went out to Egypt and Palestine in February, 1936, would be sent home as soon as possible and by 31st March, 1937, at the latest, he will state when it is hoped to give effect to that undertaking?

Mr. Cooper

It is intended that all Royal Army Service Corps emergency reinforcements, serving in Egypt and Palestine, who embarked from the United Kingdom on or before 31st March, 1936, and do not volunteer to remain overseas, shall be withdrawn to the United Kingdom by the end of April next. I do not know to what official announcement my hon. and gallant Friend refers.
