HC Deb 04 May 1933 vol 277 c1033W

asked the Home Secretary if he can state the number of convictions for drunkenness in England and Wales in 1932 and the number of criminal offenders convicted in England and Wales at assizes and quarter sessions in 1932?

I regret that figures for 1932 are not yet available. In case the figures for 1931 may be of assistance to the hon. Member, they are as follow:

Number of persons convicted summarily of
Drunkenness (simple) 15,767
Drunkenness with aggravations 25,045
Number of persons convicted at assizes and quarter sessions (all offences) 7,389
