HC Deb 11 November 1929 vol 231 c1540W
Mr. KELLY

asked the Minister of Transport if any action has been taken to deal with the overcrowding of trains on the Underground Railway in the morning and evening, particularly on the section between Kennington and Euston?

Mr. HERBERT MORRISON

The Company inform me that, on the railway referred to, 34 additional cars have been provided during the past 12 months, that deliveries of further rolling stock now on order are expected in three or four weeks time, and that they are making every effort to deal with the crowding which takes place during a comparatively short time in the mornings and evenings.
