§ Mr. HERBERT MORRISONIt is the practice of my Department to require the provision of footpaths in conection with schemes of road improvement and new construction, where such provision is desirable and practicable. The cost of construction of the footpath is included in the cost of the work on which the grant from the Road Fund is based, and in the case of roads, such as Class I and Class II roads, towards which maintenance grants are made from the Road Fund the maintenance of the footpath ranks also for grant.
