HC Deb 06 November 1929 vol 231 c1068W
Sir N. GRATTAN-DOYLE

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether he can state the progress made towards an agreement respecting the demilitarisation of the right bank of the Rhine, in accordance with the provisions of the Treaty of Versailles; and whether he is in a position to indicate when a definite agreement will be reached?

Mr. HENDERSON

I presume that the hon. Member refers to certain minor questions arising out of the demilitarisation of the Rhineland, which require to be settled now that the occupied territory is being evacuated. Negotiations with regard to these questions are proceeding, but I am unable to state when they will be concluded.
