§ Mr. MACPHERSONasked the Financial Secretary to the Treasury whether the Development Commissioners will give 1069W consideration to an application for a grant from the Cromarty Harbour trustees from the Development Fund to make the bridge at the Cromarty Harbour capable of carrying four and five-ton lorries and for effecting such other repairs as will meet the modern needs of the fishing and farming communities?
§ Mr. PETHICK-LAWRENCEThe answer is in the affirmative. But I may remind the hon. Member that under the provisions of Section 17 (1) of the Ministry of Transport Act, 1919, advances from the Development Fund for harbour purposes can only be made in connection with the improvement and development of fisheries.
