HC Deb 10 December 1928 vol 223 cc1738-9W
Mr. KELLY

asked the Minister of Pensions whether, seeing that Charles William Wilson, ex-sergeant, No. 2812662, Seaforth Highlanders, was found unfit for further service by reason of a 30 per cent. disability, he will say why a 30 per cent. disability pension is not awarded?

Sir L. WORTHINGTON-EVANS

This man's disability was not caused by military service. He has, therefore, no entitlement to disability pension under the post-War Regulations. The pension which he is receiving was granted under the terms of the 1914 Pay Warrant to which he had a reserved right, and it is the maximum amount to which he is entitled from Army funds. Awards under the 1914 Pay Warrant are not based on an exact percentage of incapacity.
