asked the Minister of Health whether there is any casual ward other than that at Bicester at which journeys between Oxford and Banbury and Oxford and Chipping Norton can be broken; the distances between the casual wards at Bicester and Banbury and Bicester and Chipping Norton, respectively; the names of the villages and sanitary districts through which tramps would have to pass between the casual wards at Bicester, Banbury, and Chipping Norton, respectively;, and will he ascertain the views of the local and sanitary authorities of such villages and districts before he approves an application to close the casual ward at Woodstock?

The answer to the first part of my hon. and gallant Friend's question is in the negative; to the second part 15 and 16 miles. As regards the third part, the villages and sanitary areas lying between Bicester and Banbury are Caversfield, Bainton, Fritwell and Souldern in the Bicester Rural District; Aynho in the Brackley Rural District, and Adderbury and Bodicote in the Banbury Rural District; between Banbury and Chipping Norton, Bloxham and South Newington in the Banbury Rural District, and Swerford in the Chipping Norton Rural District; and between Bicester and Chipping Norton, Middleton Stoney and Lower Heyford in the Bicester Rural District, Westcott Barton in the Woodstock Rural District and Enstone in the Chipping Norton Rural District With regard to the fourth part, any representations addressed to me by the local sanitary authorities would receive careful consideration.
