HC Deb 14 July 1924 vol 176 c57W
Mr. BAKER

asked the Minister of Transport whether his attention has been called to the complaints against the use of asphalte on main roads which are made by motorists and horse owners; and whether he will consider the desirability of substituting a slightly-roughened surface, in the interests of the safety of all concerned?

Mr. GOSLING

I am arranging for certain further experiments, with a view to discovering the best means of overcoming the occasional slipperiness of road surfaces in certain states of the weather.
