HC Deb 21 March 1923 vol 161 cc2593-4W
Mr. PETO

asked the Postmaster-General whether he is aware that the Post Office Regulations provide that old age pensioners, whose pensions are payable on Friday, cannot draw them until the Saturday after Good Friday; and whether he will arrange that these pensions shall be payable at the Post Office on the Thursday before Good Friday this year and in future?

Sir W. JOYNSON-HICKS

Arrangements have been made to pay old age pensions due on Good Friday on the preceding Thursday at offices which will be closed on the following Saturday, and also at offices which will be open on Saturday where earlier payment is justified by special circumstances.
