HC Deb 04 December 1922 vol 159 cc1247-8W
Sir W. DAVISON

asked the Home Secretary whether he is aware that the Clauses in the Aliens Restriction Act-excluding enemy aliens from this country without special permits expire on the 23rd December; and whether, in view of the widespread unemployment among British workers and, in particular, the unemployment of ex-service men, he will take steps to pass a one-Clause Bill through Parliament extending the operation of the above-mentioned Clauses for a further period?

Mr. BRIDGEMAN

I would refer to the reply which I gave to a similar question asked by the hon. and learned Member for the Ealing Division (Sir H. Nield) on the 27th ultimo.
