§ Mr. CAUTLEYasked the Minister of Agriculture under what authority does he include in his demand for particulars of crops and live stock on the holdings of occupiers of land on 4th June, 1921, recently sent to them an additional demand for particulars of all men, women, and boys employed on their holdings; and what warrant is there for his statement on such demand that failure to comply with it or any false statement made in the return so far as it relates to the particulars of the employés renders the occupier liable to imprisonment?
Sir A. BOSCAWENThe notice to which the hon. Member refers is served under Section 15 of the Corn Production Act, 1917, and the Corn Production (Provisional) Regulations, 1921. The penalties for failure to comply with the notice or for making a false return are imposed by the section referred to.
