§ Mr. GILBERTasked the Home Secretary whether any charge is made by the Metropolitan Police force for constables who are employed to control queues outside theatres, picture palaces, and other places of amusement, as well as for those who attend race meetings, and will he state what the charge is for such attendance; and if it has recently been increased owing to the increased wages now paid to the police force?
§ Mr. SHORTTThe control of queues outside theatres is regarded as part of the ordinary duty of the Metropolitan Police, and no charge is made for their services in this connection.
