HC Deb 02 April 1919 vol 114 c1227W
Mr. W. R. SMITH

asked the Home Secretary whether he has received a deputation representative of the Cyclists' Touring Club with regard to the present Regulation for the carrying of a rear light on cycles; whether he has considered the representations then made; and whether, as a result, he is prepared to repeal the Regulation in question?

Mr. SHORTT

A deputation was received by one of the Assistant Secretaries on the 12th March. I have carefully considered the representations which the deputation submitted, and I regret that, pending legislation on the subject of lights on vehicles, I do not see my way to relax the requirements of the present Order.
