§ Sir C. KINLOCH-COOKE
asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether he is aware that labourers engaged in the construction of public works are required in pursuit of their employment to travel from one job to another and, as a consequence, few are able to secure the medical benefits to which they are forced to-subscribe; whether these difficulties were considered in framing the amending Act; and, if not, what steps does he propose to take to enable these men to obtain the medical benefits which by law they are entitled to receive?
Special arrangements have already been in operation for some considerable time whereby insured persons frequently moving from place to place in the course of their employment may be provided with a voucher which will enable them to obtain medical benefit in the area of any insurance committee. I am sending-the hon. Gentleman full particulars of these arrangements.
