HC Deb 21 June 1912 vol 39 c2080W
Mr. ASTOR

asked the President of the Board of Agriculture, whether he can state the average expenditure per head of the population on agricultural education in the United Kingdom, Canada, New Zealand, Germany, and Denmark, respectively?

Mr. RUNCIMAN

The circumstances which affect the expenditure on agricultural education in the countries named differ so considerably that any attempt at a comparative statement would inevitably be misleading. In this connection I may perhaps be allowed to refer the hon. Member to the reply given to a similar Question put by the hon. Member for the Newport Division on the 12th August, 1909, a copy of which I shall be glad to send him.
