HC Deb 18 June 1912 vol 39 c1625W
Mr. GLANVILLE

asked the Secretary to the Treasury if he will explain why unestablished service as boy sorter in the London Postal Service above the age of sixteen, when followed by established service upon duties of the same character, is not being counted for pension; and, if the reason is that such service was expressly laid down as unpensionable, will he state the reason for making this service an exception to the general Treasury rule?

Mr. MASTERMAN

Unestablished service as boy sorter in the London Postal Service is not counted for pension in accordance with the general rule that service does not count, which is expressly stated to be unpensionable in the regulations under which a class is recruited.
