asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer the amount of remuneration paid or payable to the Bank of England in respect of Exchequer bonds, Exchequer bills, and Treasury bills in each year during the period of five years to 31st March, 1912?

Remuneration has been paid to the Bank of England in respect of Exchequer bonds and Treasury bills as follows:—

The following table shows the remuneration paid in the last five years in respect of the management of the National Debt inscribed in the books of the banks (including the amounts paid under Section 4 (6) of the Bank Act, 1892, from the local loans fund and from the Vote for the Irish Land Commission):
