HL Deb 18 October 1984 vol 455 c1187

Lord Ferrier asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether they are satisfied that the steps being taken to render chiropractic treatment available in some measure to patients under the National Health Service are of sufficient urgency.

Lord Glenarthur: Decisions on the treatment to be provided under the NHS are for the clinical judgment of the doctors concerned, within the limits of the available resources. Chiropractors have no statutory qualifications but it would be open to a health authority to employ a person to provide chiropractic treatment prescribed by a doctor.
