HL Deb 11 November 1976 vol 377 c809

[No.49.]

Schedule 4, page 25, leave out lines 6 to 13.

Lord STRABOLGI

My Lords, I beg to move that this House doth agree with the Commons in their Amendment No. 49. With your Lordships' permission, I should like to speak to Amendments Nos. 52, 53 and 53B. These Amendments take account of the fact that since this Bill was last before your Lordships' House, there have been changes in the Orders listed in Part III of Schedule 4. The Government wish to retain in force certain Orders made under the powers in the Fuel and Electricity (Control) Act 1973 which is to be repealed when this Bill becomes law. The list of Orders in the Bill includes the Paraffin (Maximum Retail Prices) Order 1973 and three Amendment Orders, all of which were revoked on 1st August this year and replaced by the Paraffin (Maximum Retail Prices) Order 1976, SI 1976/1204. These Amendments therefore substitute the new Order SI 1976/1204 for those that have been revoked.

Moved, that the House doth agree with the Commons in the said Amendment No. 49.
