HL Deb 19 December 1973 vol 348 c335
THE LORD CHANCELLOR (LORD HAILSHAM OF SAINT MARYLEBONE)

My Lords, I think I ought to say this from the Woolsack. I notice in column 323 of the current Hansard that it is stated that the Biological Weapons Bill and the Land Tenure Reform (Scotland) Bill were read the first time yesterday afternoon. I happened to notice particularly that they were brought from another place, but my noble friends did not move the First Reading of them. I suppose nobody will find this out if we go on, but in all candour we ought to remedy the defect. I do not know whether my noble friends would be good enough to move the First Reading, or whether I should do it for them.

LORD ABERDARE

I formally move that these two Bills be read the first time.

Moved, that the Biological Weapons Bill be now read 1a.—(Lord Aberdare.)

On Question, Bill read 1a, and to be printed.

Moved, That the Land Tenure Reform (Scotland) Bill be now read 1a.—(Lord Aberdare.)

On Question, Bill read 1a. and to be printed.
