HL Deb 02 August 1972 vol 334 cc426-7

[No.10]

Clause 16, page 10, line 2, at end insert ("and may appoint to any sub-committee persons who are not members of the committee.")

LORD POLWARTH

My Lords, I beg to move that this House doth agree with the Commons in their Amendment No.10. The general aim of the clause is to give the local professional bodies and their sub-committees as much freedom as possible to provide advice to the health board in the way they think best. The power to co-opt members with special experience to sub-committees is needed for this purpose.

Moved, That this House doth agree with the Commons in the said Amendment.—(Lord Polwarth.)
