HL Deb 13 May 1959 vol 216 c355

Clause 15, page 7, line 27, leave out ("anauthorisation") and insert ("any of the functions of the Commission").

LORD FORBES

My Lords, at present if the Commission wish to enter on land to investigate damage done by marauding deer, they can do so immediately only with the occupier's consent. It may be assumed that the occupier will welcome investigation by the Commission. However, if this is not so, the Commission will have to give fourteen days' notice of intended entry. The effect of this Amendment is to permit investigational work in connection with marauding deer without fourteen days' notice of warning. I beg to move that this House doth agree with the Commons in the said Amendment.

Moved, That this House doth agree with the Commons in the said Amendment.(Lord Forbes)

On Question, Motion agreed to.
