§ THE LORD CHANCELLORMy Lords, the Bill transfers from the Home Secretary to the Lord Chancellor responsibility for directing what remuneration shall be paid to a deputy stipendiary magistrate, but it is defective in omitting to say who shall make the payment, which at present is borne by the Home Office Vote. This Amendment provides that these payments shall be made in future by the Lord Chancellor out of voted moneys. I beg to move that this House doth agree with the Commons in the Amendment.
