HL Deb 22 November 1954 vol 189 c1715

Clause 10, page 10, line 41, after ("description") insert ("(being a description which in the opinion of the Ministers making the regulations ascribes to the milk a quality higher than the minimum quality prescribed for milk under section ten of the said Act),").

LORD CARRINGTON

My Lords, this Amendment is to make it quite clear that the regulation-making powers dealing with the composition of special milks contained in this paragraph are confined to milk the description of which implies that it has a higher fat or milk solids content than ordinary milk. This assurance was sought by the milk trade. I beg to move that the House doth agree with the Commons in the said Amendment.

Moved, That this House doth agree with the Commons in the said Amendment.—(Lord Carrington.)

On Question, Motion agreed to.
